FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you may have questions about, and more!

What qualifications does your shop have?

Rose City Originals is fully licensed by the City of Camrose, and works closely with Alberta Health to not only follow guidelines set out for tattoo shops, but also hold a standard high for surrounding shops. All of our artists are certified for bloodborne pathogens, have completed a traditional tattoo apprenticeship, and hold a good reputation in the tattoo industry.

Some of our artists have won multiple awards for their work, and regularly attend national tattoo conventions to help push their art forward.

What sort of tattoos do you do?

We specialize in Realism and American Traditional, but can accommodate other styles as well! Check out our portfolio page to view our work!

Do you tattoo under 18?

NO. We don’t tattoo anyone under the age of 18, even with parental consent.

Do you offer piercings?

No. We don’t currently have a piercer.

What are your rates?

All of our artists set their own rates. Some are hourly, some charge by the project. Your best bet is to send in a request form or contact the shop. Shop minimum is $150.

Do you do coverups?

Yes! Depending on what you are looking to cover, we will do our best to help you. Some coverup projects may require laser sessions first, but we would love to chat and steer you in the right direction.

Where are you located?

Our address is 5107, 50th Ave, Camrose AB T4V1R1.

Where can I park?

There is street parking in the front of our shop for 2 hours, or you can park on the side street for longer sessions.

What are your hours?

We don’t have set hours and are currently by appointment only. Please text or call us at (587) 576-9667 or email us at rosecityogs@gmail.com for more information.

Is your shop really haunted?

Maybe. We have a ton of weird and strange oddities, including a haunted doll. Our tattoo shop is like a miniature museum with lots to look at! You should definitely come check it out.

Do I need an appointment to get tattooed?

Yes! We typically book out several months, so plan ahead! We also have walk-in flash days multiple times a year to accommodate impulsive tattoos or those that don’t like to book in advance. Please check our social media pages to keep up to date on upcoming events!

How does booking a tattoo work?

Please fill out the form on our website under the tab “Book Now”. It will ask you for some basic information and some details about the tattoo you want. Please be as specific as possible to help us out! You should hear back from us within a week, to book and secure a spot with a deposit, or to setup a consultation.

How do I book a consultation?

Please text or call us at (587)576-9667 or email us at rosecityogs@gmail.com to discuss times and availability for consultations.

Do you require a deposit for booking?

Yes. Deposits will range from $50 - $500 depending on the size and complexity of the project. All deposits must be paid before being booked into the schedule. Deposits are nonrefundable and may be forfeited if the appointment is cancelled, or needs to be moved within one week or less of the appointment. Deposits come off the FINAL session of a tattoo. In case of rescheduling with more than a week’s notice, deposits will be held on file for 1 year of the last booked appointment. Rescheduling more than 2 times may also forfeit deposit.

How should I prepare for my tattoo?

Make sure to be well rested before your appointment. Eat a decent sized meal beforehand, preferably rich in carbs, proteins, and sugars. Bring something to drink and something sweet to snack on during the appointment. Show up clean and sober, and do not have any alcoholic drinks within 48 hours before your appointment. Be sure to keep the area you are getting tattooed moisturized for at least a week before your appointment.

Can I bring my partner or a friend?

Yes, the shop is a good size, but please don’t bring a crowd and be respectful of our space.

What about aftercare instructions?

Aftercare instructions will be available following your appointment! Our artists usually explain this verbally and written instructions are available upon request. You can also view them here.
